PM Modi likely to visit Surat Bullet Train station in Antroli on Nov 15

Surat: Work on the Ahmedabad–Mumbai High-Speed Rail (Bullet Train) project is progressing at a rapid pace, with plans to commence operations on the Surat–Bilimora section in the first quarter of 2027. Most of the construction work on the railway track, as well as the Surat and Bilimora stations, has been completed.

Amid this progress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit the Surat Bullet Train station located in Antroli village. PM Modi is likely to visit Gujarat on November 15, during which he will review the project’s progress.

During his visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to hold a high-level meeting with senior officials of the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) and the Railways. Apart from the Antroli station visit, the Prime Minister is also expected to participate in a special ceremony at Dediapada in Narmada district to mark the birth anniversary of tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda.

How the Surat Bullet Train Station is Taking Shape

With Surat being known as the Diamond City, the concept for the design of the façade and interiors of the station is a representation of a diamond facet. The structural work of the station building is already complete, and finishing activities such as interiors, roofing, and installation of station facilities are ongoing. Track works, including the construction of the RC track bed and installation of temporary tracks, have also been completed at the station.

Built in line with the features of the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) standards — such as rainwater harvesting, low-flow sanitary fixtures, and eco-friendly paints — the station has wide openings and skylights to allow natural light and ventilation across the platform and concourse.

Modern and comfortable passenger amenities such as waiting lounges, nurseries, restrooms, and retail outlets are being provided. To make movement across different levels smooth and accessible for everyone, multiple lifts and escalators are being installed. Passenger-friendly facilities like clear signage to guide passengers easily across the concourse, platforms, and exit areas — including information kiosks and public announcement systems — are also being set up.

To further enhance connectivity, the station will offer seamless integration with other modes of transport. Located in Antroli village near the Surat–Bardoli Road, the station enjoys excellent connectivity:

  • BRTS Bus Stop: 330 m

  • Proposed Metro Station: 280 m

  • Surat Railway Station: 11 km

  • Surat City Bus Stand: 10 km

  • Chalthan Railway Station: 5 km

  • NH-48: 5 km

Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, senior railway officials, including the General Manager of Western Railway, have inspected the Antroli station site. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw is also expected to visit the station in the coming days.
