Schools reopen across Gujarat after 21-day Diwali vacation

Surat: The second semester of the academic year 2025–26 commenced today, November 6, 2025, in schools across the state. After a 21-day Diwali vacation, schools have once again come alive with the cheerful sounds of students returning to classrooms.
The first semester of the academic year 2025–26 began on June 9, 2025, and included 105 working days, with an additional 21 days off for Sundays and public holidays. The semester ended on October 15, followed by the Diwali vacation from October 16 to November 5. Today, the second semester started and will go on until May 3, 2026. This semester will have 144 academic days and around 35 public holidays, including Sundays.
Colleges to Begin 2nd Semester from Tomorrow
After schools, colleges will also commence their second semester for this academic year from tomorrow, November 7. The Diwali vacation for colleges commenced on October 17, and today is the last day of the vacation, with classes set to resume on Friday. DeshGujarat
