Ahmedabad: Two security guards employed at a residential complex in the Ellisbridge area allegedly stole a Mercedes-Benz worth approximately Rs 40 lakh and vandalized a BMW before fleeing. The theft came to light when the owner received toll payment notifications on his mobile in the morning.

According to the complaint filed at Navrangpura police station, the businessman had parked his Mercedes E-220 and BMW X3 in the apartment’s parking lot on Monday night and left the keys at the security cabin before going to bed. The next morning, he received two toll payment alerts on his mobile, indicating that his Mercedes had crossed Ahmedabad city limits. On checking outside, he found his BMW badly damaged and parked in a nearby lane, while the Mercedes was missing.

Upon confronting the security agency managing the residential complex, the businessman was informed that both night-duty guards had been missing since morning. Navrangpura police have registered an FIR under relevant sections, and the investigation is underway.
