ACB Gujarat nabs ASI, AMC supervisor in bribe case in Ahmedabad
November 20, 2025
Ahmedabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested an ASI and a contract-based supervisor for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹1.44 lakh from a city-based businessman.
According to the ACB, the complainant is a gift-article supplier. Accused ASI Roshan Kumar Anilbhai Bhuriya of SRP Group-5, Godhra, also serves as the secretary of The Karmachari Dhiren Grahak Sahakari Mandali. In September this year, Bhuriya placed an order for 670 gift articles to be distributed as annual gifts to the society’s members and indicated that some “adjustments” would be required later.
The complainant delivered the order on November 13 and received a payment of ₹8,37,500. However, Bhuriya then allegedly demanded 30% of the bill amount—₹2,51,000—as a bribe. After negotiations, the complainant paid ₹97,000 in cash to another accused, Prince alias Vicky Mukeshbhai Damor, a contract-based supervisor in AMC’s Solid Waste Collection Department (East Zone). The remaining ₹1,44,000 was to be paid on November 19.
Unwilling to pay further, the complainant approached the ACB. A trap was subsequently organised at the complainant’s office at Neptune House near Nehru Bridge. During the operation, accused Prince arrived as instructed by the ASI, engaged in incriminating conversation, and accepted the bribe amount. He was caught red-handed with the entire ₹1,44,000.
Soon after, ASI Bhuriya was also apprehended from his work location at AMC Parking, Vishala Estate, Odhav Ring Road. The entire bribe amount of ₹1,44,000 was recovered. DeshGujarat
