November 21, 2025
Vadodara: In a major crackdown on illegal constructions, the anti-encroachment team of Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) carried out a large-scale demolition on the Atladara-Swaminarayan Mandir main road in the southern part of the city. Over 45 illegal shops and houses erected on the roadside were razed, opening up the road for smoother traffic flow.
The operation involved five bulldozers, JCB machines, and trucks and tractors to clear the debris. For security, local police personnel and an SRP team were deployed at the site. A team from Madhya Gujarat Power Company was also present to handle electric wires, and an ambulance was stationed for emergencies. Large crowds of local residents and shopkeepers gathered during the demolition, but police successfully managed the situation.
Officials said the action follows multiple complaints from residents and traders about illegal encroachments on the road. The demolition is expected to provide long-term relief to commuters by easing the increasing traffic congestion on the Atladara-Swaminarayan Mandir road. DeshGujarat
