Surat: The City Police Commissioner has issued a notification stating that the part of the Ring Road from Majura Gate to Udhna Darwaza will remain closed to traffic due to ongoing work on the Surat Metro Rail Project. The affected roads will be closed to all types of vehicles from 1 December 2025 to 31 January 2026. Vehicle owners have been requested to follow alternative routes during this period.

Roads to be closed:

• Left service road from Krishimangal Hall towards Majura Gate intersection.
• 200-meter stretch from Sony TV showroom towards Udhna Darwaza.
• Gaps of the ascending and descending bridges at Udhna Darwaza Overbridge and Kadiwala Overbridge.

Alternative routes:

• From the Old RTO to the station, commuters can use the Majura Gate Overbridge. To go towards Bhatar, vehicles can descend from Majura Gate Bridge and turn left. Vehicles can also turn right from Old RTO towards Ghoddod Road.
• From Nirmal Hospital, vehicles can go towards Udhna Darwada via Unique Hospital. Vehicles above the bridge can take the route via Chamunda Restaurant → Khatodara GIDC → Surat-Navsari Road.
• Traffic from both directions can also be diverted via the road connecting Udhna Darwaza and Old Subjail.

The Police Commissioner has urged commuters to plan their journeys in advance and follow the suggested alternative routes to avoid inconvenience during the construction period. DeshGujarat
