Surat civic body plans another night food bazaar in the city

Surat: Surat city is set to get a new night food market in the Rander area. The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has proposed the development of the Night Bazaar at a cost of ₹7.94 crore under T.P. Scheme No. 30 (Wankala–Okha–Vihel).

The upcoming night market, planned on an 8,559 sq. m plot, will include 28 shops along with parking facilities for 122 two-wheelers and 12 four-wheelers. The project aims to enhance the city’s growing night-time food ecosystem and provide food lovers with a dedicated, well-organised space to enjoy a variety of delicacies.

Surat already has one night food market in Piplod, developed to promote its well-known street food culture. Encouraged by its success, the municipal administration has undertaken efforts to establish similar night markets in other parts of the city. A provision for the Rander night market had been made in the previous budget, and the project is now moving toward execution.
