December 09, 2025
Gandhinagar: Gujarat’s tourism sector is setting a new international standard, anchored by the development of Shivrajpur Beach, the state’s first coveted Global Blue Flag Beach, an official statement said. The ambitious project, backed by a ₹130 crore investment from the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL), is poised to be a central theme at the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Rajkot, demonstrating sustainable infrastructure and positioning the Kutch-Saurashtra region as a hotspot for tourism investment.
Aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ vision, Shivrajpur Beach in Devbhumi Dwarka district has been recognized for its cleanliness, safety, and environmental standards. The development includes an Arrival Plaza, Snorkeling Plaza, Cycle Track, Promenade, Children’s Play Area, changing rooms, shower facilities, a Sludge Treatment Plant, and over 11 km of new roads constructed by the Gujarat State Roads and Buildings Department (₹3.93 crore).
The Dwarka-Okha Urban Development Authority is planning a broader tourism circuit encompassing Dwarka, Bet Dwarka, and Shivrajpur, with beach festivals and events further boosting its appeal.
As per an official statement, the Kutch-Saurashtra tourism circuit will take center stage at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) in Rajkot from 10–12 January 2026. Investors are being encouraged to explore high-return opportunities in the coastal region, as per the government release.
These opportunities range from premium coastal resorts and water sports in Dwarka to eco-tourism and heritage hospitality across the cultural landscapes of Kutch and Saurashtra. The conference will specifically aim to connect capital with readily available opportunities for hotels, resorts, and adventure tourism operations throughout the region, including spiritual circuits, eco-tourism at Gir, and cultural experiential travel in the Rann.
