Ahmedabad: In a freak accident, a two-wheeler rider was killed after a bus tyre fell on him from a flyover in the Changodar area on the national highway.

According to locals, a private bus working for Unison Company (GJ27TD9904) was travelling on the flyover when one of its wheels suddenly detached. The loose tyre bounced off the elevated road and plunged onto the service road below, hitting the motorcycle rider. The victim died on the spot due to the impact.

Daily, lakhs of people travel through this road for jobs in the industrial area of Changodar. The driver of the private bus escaped the spot. Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the wheel detachment and to fix responsibility for the incident. DeshGujarat
