Rabid stray dog attacks 9 people in Navsari village

Vansda: Panic prevailed in parts of Vansda taluka after a rabid dog attacked several people in the Unai–Khambhaliya area, leaving nine persons injured and triggering fear among residents.
According to local sources, the dog suddenly turned aggressive and attacked people at multiple locations, creating chaos in the locality. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment, while residents, ranging from children to the elderly, stayed indoors fearing further attacks.
After sustained efforts by locals, the rabid dog was eventually caught and neutralised, bringing relief to the area. However, movement in the locality remained restricted for several hours due to lingering fear.
Of the injured, six persons were treated locally: Mahendrabhai Manubhai Patel, Varshaben Yogeshbhai Chaudhary, Kevinbhai Rajeshbhai Lad, Pratiben Ravibhai Nimawat, Zhilkumar Vipulbhai Bhoy, and Vikeshbhai Mahendrabhai Chaudhary. Three others, Maqsudbhai Fakirbhai Sheikh, Bapu Sonubhai Gaikwad, and Ganpatbhai Dahyabhai Patel, were referred to Navsari for further treatment.
Residents have urged the authorities to take preventive steps, including stricter monitoring of stray animals and timely vaccination drives, to avoid similar incidents in the future. DeshGujarat
