Surat: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today nabbed a circle officer posted at the Udhna Mamlatdar’s Office while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 for official work.
According to ACB officials, the complainant had approached the accused, Krishna Kumar Banesang Dabhi (38), a Class-III officer, for certification of revenue records related to a plot of land belonging to the complainant’s client. In return for processing the application and taking necessary action, the accused allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹10,000. Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the Anti-Corruption Bureau and lodged a formal complaint.
Following verification of the complaint, the ACB laid a trap, during which the accused allegedly reiterated the demand, accepted the bribe amount of ₹10,000, and was caught red-handed in his chamber at the Udhna Mamlatdar’s Office. The entire amount was recovered from the accused during the trap proceedings. Further legal action is underway. DeshGujarat
