Ahmedabad: Construction work under the Ahmedabad–Mumbai Bullet Train Project is in progress from Sabarmati to Vatva, being carried out by Dineshchandra R. Agrawal Infracon Pvt. Ltd. As part of this work, segment launching on the completed pillars of the bullet train near the Shahibaug underbridge will be undertaken. The activity is scheduled from January 5 to January 12, 2026, and will continue round the clock during this period.

Due to this work, traffic movement at all three entry and exit points of the Shahibaug underbridge will remain closed 24 hours a day for the stated duration.

Roads Closed to Vehicular Traffic

All three entry and exit points of the Shahibaug underbridge will remain closed to vehicular traffic 24 hours a day from January 5, 2026, to January 12, 2026.

Traffic Diversions / Alternative Routes

Traffic coming from Delhi Darwaja and Subhash Bridge and heading towards the Airport or Gandhinagar may proceed by turning near Shilalekh Flats at the end of Subhash Bridge, use the Riverfront road, and then go via Dafnala towards the Airport and Gandhinagar.

Traffic coming from the Airport–Gandhinagar side may use the Dafnala Riverfront route and proceed towards different destinations. Vehicles heading towards Asarwa, Girdharnagar, Delhi Darwaja, or Kalupur may go via Shahibaug and use the Mahapragyaji Bridge to reach the main roads.

Traffic coming from the Girdharnagar–Asarwa side and heading towards Gandhinagar or the Airport may proceed via Shahibaug, then Ankshi, Gayatri Temple, through the Army Cantonment, and further towards the Airport and Indira Bridge for Gandhinagar. DeshGujarat
