New creek bridge to link Sachin GIDC and Kansad village in Surat
January 24, 2026
Surat: Travel to Sachin GIDC is set to become easier with the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) planning to construct a new creek bridge providing direct connectivity between Sachin GIDC and Kansad village at an estimated cost of Rs 24.72 crore.
The bridge will be built on a 24-metre-wide road under Draft TP Scheme No. 33 (Talangpor–Umber). Once completed, it is expected to reduce travel time for motorists commuting between Navsari and Sachin GIDC, ensuring smoother transportation.
According to municipal plans, the project includes a 4-lane high-level creek bridge with a total length of around 122 metres, including the approach road. The estimate also includes Rs 6 crore for shifting high-tension power lines of GETCO, which currently pose an obstacle to construction.
The main objective of the project is to improve connectivity for emerging areas such as Talangpor and Kansad with Surat’s main road network. The proposal, along with revised maps and cost estimates, has been forwarded to the general assembly through the Public Works Committee for approval.
