Stray dog attack in Surat leaves two-year-old girl injured

Surat: A two-year-old girl was injured after being attacked by stray dogs near the gate of her residential society in the Un area of Surat this morning, once again highlighting the persistent menace of stray animals in the city and prompting questions over municipal control measures.
According to available information, the child, Ayat Munfid Saiyed, lives with her family at Noor Residency. Her father reportedly earns the family’s livelihood by driving a tempo. The incident occurred in the morning when Ayat was playing near the society’s entrance. As she briefly moved outside the gate, three stray dogs rushed toward her, and one of them bit her on the upper body.
The attack, which was captured on the society’s CCTV camera, shows the child crying in pain, after which the dogs fled. Locals immediately brought the injured girl back to her family, who then took her to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Doctors administered first aid and an anti-rabies vaccination. Medical sources indicated that the child’s condition is currently stable, averting what could have been a far more serious outcome.
