Ahmedabad: In a move aimed at strengthening tourism and travel connectivity between Gujarat and Sri Lanka, City of Dreams Sri Lanka, in partnership with Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts and Walkers Tours, has collaborated with Sri Lankan airline FitsAir to launch direct scheduled passenger flights between Ahmedabad and Colombo.

FitsAir, Sri Lanka’s first private international airline, will operate the service three times a week, providing direct connectivity for travellers from Gujarat to the Sri Lankan capital. The new route is expected to cater to the growing number of outbound travellers from Gujarat, which has emerged as a key and fast-growing source market for Sri Lankan tourism.

City of Dreams Sri Lanka, located in central Colombo, is being positioned as South Asia’s first fully integrated resort, combining hospitality, entertainment and lifestyle experiences. Visitors can stay at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams or choose from other Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts properties in the city, including Cinnamon Grand, Cinnamon Lakeside and Cinnamon Red.

The launch of the Ahmedabad–Colombo flights also introduces specially curated Cinnamon holiday packages designed for Indian travellers. These packages combine stays at City of Dreams Sri Lanka with multi-destination itineraries across the island, including cultural experiences in Kandy and beach stays at Cinnamon resorts.

Kamal Munasinghe, Senior Vice President, Colombo Hotels, Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts and General Manager of Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams, said India remains one of the group’s most important markets and Gujarat has shown increasing interest in Colombo as a leisure destination.

FitsAir Director Ammar Kassim said Ahmedabad is one of India’s most vibrant commercial centres and the airline has planned an overnight departure from Colombo that arrives early in Ahmedabad, allowing travellers a full day ahead while also facilitating onward connections through Colombo.

Bookings for the flights are currently available as part of curated Cinnamon travel packages starting from ₹55,555 per person. The package includes return airfare, two nights’ accommodation with breakfast at Cinnamon Life at City of Dreams and private airport transfers.
