Ahmedabad: Gujarat BJP president Jagdish Vishwakarma today formed the State Election Management Committee for the upcoming local self-government body elections in the state. The committee has been constituted after consultations with senior party leaders to oversee election planning and coordination.

According to the party, Gordhanbhai Zadafia has been appointed as the State Coordinator of the committee. He is a former vice-president of Gujarat BJP.

The other members of the committee are as follows:

• Jaysinh Chauhan, former vice-president, Gujarat BJP

• Babubhai Bokhiriya, former minister in the Gujarat government

• Jashvantsinh Bhabhor, Member of Parliament from Dahod

• Pradipbhai Parmar, former minister, Gujarat government

• Uday Kangad, MLA

• Manish Patel, state convenor, Sports Cell, Gujarat BJP

• Shilpesh Desai, former general secretary, Valsad district BJP
