Ahmedabad: Gujarat University has postponed several examinations due to the ongoing local body elections, citing the deployment of staff and officials for election duties as the primary reason.
The university had initially scheduled undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) semester examinations in five phases. While two phases have already been completed, the remaining three phases have now been rescheduled.
As per the revised timetable, examinations that were earlier slated to begin on April 16 will now commence from May 1. Exams scheduled for April 24 have been deferred to May 12, while those planned for early May will now begin from May 21.
Examinations for MA Semester 3; BA, BCom, BSc, BBA, BCA, and BRS Semesters 4 and 6; integrated courses across Semesters 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10; LLB Semester 2; and BEd Semester 2 will now start from May 1.
Additionally, Semester 2 examinations for MA, MCom, MSc, ALW, MRS, MMCJ, ADC, and MEd, along with various UG courses including BA, BCom, BSc, BBA, and BCA, will commence from May 12. Semester 4 examinations under the New Education Policy (NEP) for UG courses will also begin on the same date.
The final phase of examinations, covering various UG, PG, and diploma courses under the NEP, will begin from May 21.
Overall, the examination schedule has been pushed back by approximately 15 to 20 days.
In a related development, the schedule for the Diploma to Degree Common Entrance Test (DDCET) has also been revised. The exam will now be conducted in two phases instead of a single day. The entrance test for diploma-to-degree (D2D) engineering courses will be held on May 5, while the D2D pharmacy exam is scheduled for May 9. DeshGujarat
