Air India’s winter schedule 2011 will be effective from 30th October with following changes.

-Delhi-Ahmedabad flight no. 010 that leaves Delhi airport at 18.55 and reaches Ahmedabad at 20.20 will leave Delhi at 18.00 and reach Ahmedabad at 19.25 after 30 October in winter schedule. This change is important because this is the connecting flight that is boarded from Delhi by passengers coming from Chicago, Toronto and JFK to reach Ahmedabad. While Chicago-Delhi flight arrives at Delhi airport at 16.00 and Toronto-Delhi flight arrives at Delhi airport at 15.30, another JFK-Delhi flight arrives at Delhi at 15.35 hours. Ahmedabad bound passengers of all these three flights have to wait till 18.55 at Delhi airport to board connecting flight 010 to Ahmedabad. But from 30th onwards, this wait period will be lesser by one hour. This means the passengers from these destinations will come to Ahmedabad one hour earlier from 30 October.

-Ahmedabad-Mumbai-London flight AI 131 leaves Ahmedabad airport at 22:00 and Ahmedabad-Mumbai-New Jersey flight AI 191 EWR leaves Ahmedabad airport at 22:30. From 30th onwards, passengers of both flights will be mixed in one plane and the plane will depart Ahmedabad at 22:10. This plane will be Boing 777 and it will halt in Mumbai where Ahmedabad-London passengers will be deplaned and diverted to a new plane, while Ahmedabad-NJ passengers will continue to board same plane for further journey. Presently while Ahmedabad-Mumbai-NJ passengers can enjoy first-class journey from Ahmedabad to NJ, in the case of Ahmedabad-Mumbai-London, the passengers have to wait till Mumbai to sit in first class because AI 131 uses simple plane upto Mumbai. However from 30th October onwards, as Ahmedabad-Mumbai-London passengers are to be mixed with Ahmedabad-Mumbai-NJ passengers in 777, they would be able to enjoy the first class journey from end-to-end.

-Afternoon flight of Air India between Delhi and Ahmedabad AI 012 will be canceled from 30 October onwards. This flight had very little traffic.
