Various companies announce their plans post Vibrant summit

Various companies have started making announcements in reference to their new initiatives finalized at recently concluded Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit 2013.
US packaging firm to invest $184 mn at Vapi
The Richmond, Virginia, based packaging firm announced Monday it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat government for the investment that includes the purchase of Vapi-based Ruby Macons Ltd.The company will invest $184 mn.
McCain to invest USD 69 million at Mehsana
McCain Foods India on Monday said the company plans to invest USD 69 million (over Rs 370 crore) at its potato processing plant at Mehsana in Gujarat, as it looks to cater to the increased demand.The investments will roll in from October 2013.
Ford to employ 5,000
President and Managing Director of Ford Motor Company in India, Joginder Singh, said that the company will need to employ 5,000 people specialized in auto-engineering, manufacturing and engine plants. The company is keen to employ locally at the Sanand facility and wants to ensure that the talent pool fulfills the demand of Ford and its global suppliers, he said.
Crompton Greaves’s transformers and reactors facility to come up in Gujarat
Crompton Greaves Limited has announced that the company will establish State-of-the-Art world class manufacturing facility for Power Transformers & Reactors upto and including 1200kV and will develop & deploy cost efficient and cutting edge technological products & solutions for Domestic & Global Markets. CG, one of the world’s largest power transformer manufacturers has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to set up a state-of- the- art Power Transformer manufacturing unit at Gujarat. The plant will manufacture Power Transformers and Reactors upto 1200KV for both Domestic and International Markets. The MoU was signed between Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, CG, Mr. Laurent Demortier and Mr.GI Desai, Jt. Industries Commissioner, Govt. of Gujarat. This will be CG’s second manufacturing facility in Gujarat the first one being its modern lighting factory, operational since August 16, 1994.
