One of only two MLAs of Keshubhai Patel’s Gujarat Parivartan Party(GPP) is with BJP. Nalinbhai Kotadia – son of former Congress man Manubhai Kotadia is GPP MLA from Dhari in Amreli district. He is openly canvasing for BJP candidates in Porbandar Lok Sabha and Dhoraji and Jetpur assembly by-polls.
But this is not surprising for political observers. Nalinbhai praised the state government, and stood in support of government motions at several occasions in Gujarat assembly’s budget session early this year.
Keshubhai Patel wanted to get majority on his own to become Chief Minister of Gujarat in last year’s assembly elections. However his Gujarat Parivartan Party (GPP) could only secure two seats. While Keshubhai won Visavdar seat, his party candidate Nalinbhai Kotadia – son of former Congress man Manubhai Kotadia won Dhari seat in Amreli district.
