Nilofar weakens into well-marked low pressure, may just bring rainfall

In its latest bulletin(10.30 am on 31st October) over Nilofar cyclone which converted into deep depression and later depression, Indian Meteorological Department(IMD) today stated: The Depression over northeast Arabian Sea moved northeastwards and weakened into a well-marked low pressure area over northeast Arabian Sea at 0830 hours IST of today, the 31th October, 2014. Under the influence of this system, moderate rainfall at many places would occur over Kutch and Saurashtra during next 24 hrs. Squally wind speed reaching 35-45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph would prevail along and off Gujarat coast during next 24 hours. Sea condition along and off Gujarat coast will be moderate to rough during next 24 hours. Fishermen along and off Gujarat coast are advised not to venture into the sea during next 24 hours.
Meanwhile those who were relocated due to danger of cyclone are asked to return to their homes by district administration.
Locals while speaking to media persons in coastal Kutch have admired the district administration for excellent efforts to tackle cyclone Nilofar. Locals believe rainfall would prove to be a good news for arid Kutch which is likely to face shortage of water in next summer due to lack of enough rainfall in last monsoon.
