Ahmedabad, DeshGujarat
The city of Ahmedabad was completely surprised on Wednesday evening with sudden arrival of rain fall.
Initially it was drizzle, later after 8.00 pm onwards it was light rain, but by 10.30 it converted to moderate rainfall, ditto monsoon style.
This was surprising because it’s a period of peak winter, and rainfall is not expected at all.
And Ahmedabad was not the only place in Gujarat experiencing rainfall on Wednesday. Many parts of coastal and mainland Saurashtra, central Gujarat and north Gujarat also experienced unseasonal shower.
According to Meteorological Centre in Ahmedabad, induced upper air cyclonic circulation over extending upto 2.1 km above sea level persists.rainfall occurred at isolated places over the Saurashtra-Kutch region. Weather was dry over the Gujarat region.
India Meteorological Department has predicted rains at isolated places in Gujarat in next three days.
Sudden rainfall and change in season has triggered panic, as number of events are planned during this week in open, and rainfall may cause difficulty.
Today itself in Ahmedabad, Ustad Zakir Hussain and singer Hariharan were performing live in semi-open venue when rainfall occurred. IIMA Chaos event is going to take place in open this week. If bad weather travels to Vadodara, it may disturb VADFEST which is starting from 23rd with Yanni’s performance in open ground of Lakshmi Vilas palace.
