Opening of swanky state transport bus station in Ahmedabad on August 6

A project to redevelop Ahmedabad’s Gita Mandir State Transport bus station conceived and initiated during then Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s rule has completed. It will be inaugurated by present Chief Minister Anandiben Patel on August 6. The project has been completed under Public Private Partnership(PPP) model. This would be the second bus station after Vadodara to be modernized by Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation(GSRTC) in private partnership.
GSRTC had given six ST bus stations on lease to private parties for redevelopment of bus station complex under PPP model. As one time settlement, Surat ST station was given to private party on lease for 90 years for Rs 19 crore, Mahesana Rs25 crore, Vadodara central ST bus station Rs 10.52 crore, Vadodara Makarpura ST station Rs 8 crore, Gita Mandir ST station Rs 41 crore, Subhash bridge ST station Rs 15 crore. GSRTC will get this amount during 90 years of period in installment. Rental of shops, commercial space and advertisement will go to private party.
It is learnt that Gujarat govt is planning to give 14 more ST stations on lease. This time the period of lease could be brought down to 30 years. Likely list of these stations includes Patan, Anand, Nadiad, Bharuch, Navsari, Kadodara, Junagadh, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Amreli, Surendranagar, Bhuj and Surat(Lambe Hanumna).
