Gujarat CM dedicates 150-bed govt hospital in tribal Khedbrahma

Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today dedicated Rs 10 crore sub-district hospital equipped with modern amenities at tribal Khedbrahma town in Sabarkantha district of north Gujarat.
The hospital has capacity of 150 beds. It has also a dialysis center, giving major relief to ailing patients from traveling to nearby cities.
Speaking on this occasion, the Chief Minister said, the names of Van bandhus(tribals) who have been given land rights under Forest Rights Act will now be entered in 7/12 record. This will avail them a facility to pass land to the legal heir and also avail loan apart from getting assistance under various welfare schemes of Government of Gujarat.
She said Gujarat is the first state to take this historic decision. She said, special health camps will be organized in Van Vasahati areas for health checkup and vaccination of van-mandli women workers and children.

Government would hold medical camps to serve the interior areas in the tribal belt jointly with already working Van Mandalis for health checkup of women and children and vaccination. She said the government has taken up the treatment of women and children suffering from serious diseases free-of-cost as a campaign.
Besides healthcare, she recalled the government had started the statewide campaign of handing over forest land deeds to the tribal people from Khedbrahma itself, having covered 73,000 so far. The account holders are entitled to bank loan assistance and other revenue department benefits meant for farmers.
The Chief Minister distributed Rs.35-lakh cheques to Sakhi Mandali women. She encouraged tribal women to raise honeybee, collect ‘kesuda’ flower powder and neem-coated manure, which have much demand. The market would be created for such products in big cities like Ahmedabad.
She said that each angnawadis in Khedbrahma, Poshina and Vijaynagar would be provided one liter ghee every month under the Dudh Sanjivani Yojna. She said that six crore people have reposed faith in the Bharatiya Janata Party which is taking Gatisheel Gujarat ahead with ‘Sauna Saath, Sauna Vikas’.
Mrs. Patel handed over cheques worth Rs.35-lakh, besides ECG kits, to beneficiaries. Various voluntary organizations and educational institutions presented cheques to Mukhya Mantri Kelavani Nidhi.
Describing hospitals as Sevadham, Health Minister Nitin Patel said the government is keen to extend the medical services in the remote areas. He asked the BPL families to get medical treatment of 500-odd diseases under Mukhya Mantri Amritam Yojna, and the Middle Class families under Vatsalya Yojna. He said a medical college as announced earlier would be started soon at Himatnagar.

Nagrajan.
