E-memo to traffic offenders soon in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad city traffic police has started issuing e-memo to traffic rule offenders through CCTV camera visuals. To start with 20 persons have been sent e-memo and asked to pay fine. The city police has installed high resolution CCTV cameras at 86 locations across the city at a cost of Rs 50 crore. Those driving on wrong side and breaching traffic rules are identified through CCTV visuals by zooming in the camera over number plate. E-memo is later sent to offender’s home. City traffic police is in discussion with banks, so that fine can be paid in banks.
