SCA says tickets for the Rajkot ODI only on valid id card

Rajkot

The Saurashtra Cricket Association today said that tickets for the 3rd one day internation(ODI) between South Africa and India at Rajkot on October 18 would be issued only after production of a valid identity card.

The host Association also reiterated that the pre-existing system of issuance of a maximum of two tickets to one person would also remain in place for the match.

Media Manager of the Saurashtra Cricket Association Mr. Himanshu Shah today said that identity cards would be a must during the sale of the tickets which opens on October 12. ‘Even those who had taken online tickets will have to produce the id cards during entry,’ he said.

He also said that Gujarat Chief Minister Mrs. Anandiben Patel has given consent to remain present during the match.

To a query regarding the threat of demonstration by the Patidar Anamat Aandolan Samiti (PAAS), an outfit led by Hardik Patel, who is spearheading an agitation demanding reservation for the politically strong Patel or Patidar community in the state, Mr. Shah said police will have to see the security aspects and that doesn’t fall under the purview of the association.

Meanwhile, PAAS sources said that a large number of their supporters would enter the ground in a particular dress with identical slogan written T Shirt and Cap. ‘They will shout in a particular way without disturbing others to catch the notice of viewers worldwide. As per our strategy they will cry Jai Patidar for every four hit by the India side and Jai Sardar for every six while they would say BJP down-with for every Indian wicket fallen,’ they said.

PAAS leader Hardik has claimed that supporters led by him would make a peaceful demonstration during the match.
