Rajkot: An FIR has been registered with Malviyanagar Police Station against 2024 Kshatriya agitation leader P.T. Jadeja under the Gujarat Money Lenders Act, 2011, following allegations of extortion and illegal interest charges. A businessman, Suresh Parmar, filed the complaint at Malviyanagar Police Station, accusing Jadeja of demanding exorbitant interest and withholding property documents.

The complaint alleges that the complainant, needing funds for business, borrowed ₹60,00,000 at 3% interest from the accused, P.T. Jadeja, through a reference by a friend, Yashpal Patel. As security, the accused took seven cheques of ₹5,00,000 each from the complainant’s Rajkot Nagrik Bank account, along with the original property documents, a power of attorney, and a signed agreement.

The complainant claims to have repaid ₹29,60,000 in cash, ₹30,00,000 via RTGS, and ₹10,80,000 as interest, totaling ₹70,80,000. Despite this, the accused allegedly refused to return the original property documents and demanded additional interest, resorting to aggressive extortion. The accused is also accused of issuing threats, using abusive language, and threatening to ruin the complainant’s life and force him to leave Rajkot.

A case has been registered for these offenses under IPC Sections 384, 504, 506, and Moneylenders Act Sections 40 and 42. The police have filed the case and begun the investigation, with Sub-Inspector Dinesh Gajera carrying out the inquiry. DeshGujarat
