CM reviews progress of govt programmes in Ahmedabad

Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel today asked the district and cities to display the progress of ‘Gatisheel Gujarat’ and unique identities and icons of their respective areas through attractive hoardings, banners and display boards at prime locations, near the entry points to cities, to create a new image.
Addressing the Review Meeting of Ahmedabad, she said there is an urgent need to fulfill the targets of various people’s welfare programmes, but at the same time the administration should maintain a humane face ensure change in the lifestyle of common man.
Mrs. Patel said that the anganwadi workers, members of the self-help groups, asha workers working be the agents. She suggested that girls studying in primary schools be included in the Centre’s Sukanya Nidhi Yojna.
The administration should spread the information about the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojna under the Yuva Swavlamban Yojna, Skill Development and Bank Loan facilities to reach the job-seekers and entrepreneurs through publicity and promotion, and that about breast and cervical cancer for womenfolk.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of rural development agencies in constructing individual toilets, roads and building, health, women and child welfare, housing under Sardar Awas Yojna, revenue, police and other departments.
The meeting was attended by the Chef Minister’s Chief Principal Secreatry K. Kailashnathan, Police Commissioner Shivanand Jha, District Collector, DDO and Implementing Officers of different departments.
