Gandhinagar
The Crime Branch of Ahmedabad police today took the Partidar reservation stir leader Hardik Patel, currently in its remand in a case of sedition and conspiracy to overthrow a duly elected government, to the Forensic Science Lab (FSL) in Gandhinagar where his voice samples were collected for spectrography test.
Crime Branch ACP K P Patel, who has lodged the case in which five more aides of Hardik have been made accused, said that the whole procedure took around two and a half hour. ‘His voice samples will now be matched with the ones in the telephonic intercept based on which the case has been registered. The FSL is likely to give its report 15 to 20 days.’
‘Such voice samples of three of Hardik’s aides Chirag Patel, Dinesh Patel and Ketan Patel, who were nabbed on October 21 have already been taken by the FSL on October 24,’ he said.
To a query regarding the possible request by the crime branch to the court for extending the remand of Chirag, Dinesh and Ketan, which ends tomorrow, Mr. Patel said it has not been decided yet.
The seven day remand of Hardik, who was taken in to custody on transfer warrant by the crime branch of Ahmedabad police on October 23 from Surat police is also ending on November 1.
The ACP said that the future course would be decided soon.
Another case of sedition has also been lodged against Hardik in Amroli police station of Surat for inciting a youth of his community to kill policemen rather than committing suicide. The High Court yesterday refused to quash sedition charges against him in this case.
