Three Hardik Patel aides Dinesh, Ketan and Chirag Patel were sent to further three days police custody(remand) by Ahmedabad Metro court today after their 7 days remand were over. They have been arrested by Ahmedabad Police Crime Branch under sedition charge. Their lawyer and Gujarat Congress legal cell head BM Mangukiya had opposed further remand and sought 48 hours bail, but the court turned down his plea.

Morbi Police today got big success as it arrested a major nuisance creator and local Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti(PAAS) convener, Hardik Patel aide Manoj Panara. Since August this year, caste fanatic Panara had created trouble in Morbi town and surounding belt through anti-government agitation. Panara was in year 2012 assembly general elections, a candidate of Keshubhai Patel’s now defunct Gujarat Parivartan Party. Panara is suspect in 8 offenses filed by Morbi police ‘A’ division. Local Crime Branch and DySP arrested Panara from Bhimsar chowkdi.

High Court puts interim stay on arrest of the remaining two accused PAAS leaders in sedition case

The Gujarat High Court today put an interim stay on the arrest of the remaining two accused of the Case number 90/2015 filed by Crime Branch ACP K P Patel here against six top leaders of the Patidar Anamat Aandolan Samiti (PAAS) under charges of sedition and conspiring to wage war against the duly elected government.

Hearing two separate petitions demanding quashing of the FIR, the court of Justice J B Pardiwala today gave the interim relief from arrest to the two accused Alpesh Kathiriya and Amul Patel, who were not nabbed so far, till the next date of hearing on November 2.

Meanwhile the state government counselor Mitesh Amin sought time to file reply in the matter which the court granted and asked him to furnish the affidavit by the next date of hearing.

The two petitions; one on behalf of PAAS convener Hardik Patel and the other from three of his close aides Chirag Patel, Ketan Patel and Dinesh Patel, seeking quashing of the FIR were filed by the advocate and senior congress leader B M Mangukiya.

All the four have been arrested in the case which has been filed on the basis of their telephone intercepts. Their voice samples have also been taken by the Forensic Science Lab.
The High Court has already refused to quash sedition charges against Hardik in yet another such case lodged in Amroli police station of Surat for his alleged suggestion to a member of his community to kill policemen rather than committing suicide.

The Crime Branch remand of Hardik in its case will end on November 2 while that of his above mentioned three aides would is ending today.

Nalin Kotadiya and BM Mangukiya booked

Sarthana Police in Surathas booked Dhari MLA Nalin Kotadiya and Congress legal cell head and Hardik Patel’s lawyer BM Mangukiya for violation of notification that prohibits assembly of more than four persons. Mangukiya and Kotadiya had held separate group meetings in Surat without police permission. Both had asked Patel caste people to vote for Congress.

Patels threaten to convert to Christian faith

One Ravi Patel who is Convener of Sabarkantha district of Hardik Patel led Patidar Anamat Andolan today told media persons that on birth anniversary of Sardar Patel on 31st October the Patidar community members will distribute forms for religious conversions as protest against the government. He categorically said that Patidars would fill the forms later to convert to Christian faith protesting against the government.

Quashing plea against sedition charge to be filed in Supreme Court

Hardik Patel’s father will approach Supreme Court for quashing of sedition charge filed against Hardik in Surat. Gujarat High Court has refused to give relief in this regard to Hardik. Hardik’s lawyer who is also state Congress legal cell chief said he trying to ensure that hearing on this take place on Monday or Tuesday.
