October 2010 AMC election:

Total voters: 35,87,066
Actual voting: 15,82,707
Voting percentage: 44.12%
Seats with BJP: 20 SC(Dalits), 1 ST(tribal), 144 BC(Backward Clas),116 general seats, total 151 seats.
Seats with Congress: 4 SC, 6 BC, 28 general seats, total 38 seats.
NCP: 1 SC
Independents: 2 general seats.

BJP got 22,17,055 votes, 54.55%
Congress got 8,70,881 votes, 33.73%
NCP got 1,01,183 votes, 2.49%
Independents got 1,77,294 votes, 4.36%


November 2015 election:

As per year 2011 census report Ahmedabad’s population was 55,77,940. Of them 33,83,589 are voters. With new delimitation in effect, there are 48 wards instead of 64 this time. Each ward has now a panel of 4 Councillors instead of 3. Women’s reservation has been up at 50% instead of 33%. Voters are up by 3.63 lakh compared to previous election. Both BJP and Congress have fielded their candidates on all 192 seats. Out of them 96 seats are reserved for women, 20 for SC, 2 for ST, 19 for BC. Thus 117 seats are reserved while 75 are general.
