Ahmedabad: Gujarat High Court has rejected a plea filed by the ceramic units of Morbi regarding the interim penalty of Rs 5 thousand per day by Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) for coal-based production using coal gasifiers. GPCB had charged an interim penalty of Rs 5 thousand per day to around 600 ceramic units of Morbi for the usage of coal gasifiers despite the denial of the National Green Tribunal. Morbi: Around 180 wall tiles units will remain closed for 30 days from today in Morbi due to price-hike in raw-materials and gases. The decision was made in a recent meeting of the Morbi Wall tiles association. The recent price-hike of Rs 5 by the gas company cannot be settled in the international and domestic market, as per the president of the association. Gandhinagar: Gujarat government arm Gujarat Gas has increased the gas price for Morbi ceramic units by Rs. 5 from today. The company in its communication dated August 23 claimed that the price hike is on account of substantial increase in natural gas price in international market. Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has taken a decision to give 16 per cent relief in gas bills to ceramic industries.
