Goa: In the ongoing 37th National Games here, Sunil Joliya Jinabhai from Gujarat secured the gold medal in the men's 3000m steeplechase event, setting a new Games record. The record-breaking performance occurred at the Athletics Stadium in Bambolim, where Jinabhai completed the 3000m steeplechase in 8:37.15s, surpassing the previous Games record set by Shankar Lal Swami in the last edition.
