Ahmedabad: Kankariya Zoo in the city has received 2 tigresses and 6 leopards (3 females and 3 males) from the Gorewada (Maharashtra) based Wildlife Rescue Centre near Nagpur. The shifting of animals took place via three trucks in the presence of 10 staff members from Kankariya Zoo after clearance from the Central Zoo Authority. Vadodara: Eight animals residing in Kamatibaug Zoo lost their lives in the severe flood that occurred after heavy rain and the overflowing of the Vishwamitri River in the city.
