Gujarat continues to be No.1 investment destination in India

According to latest study report of The Reserve Bank of India(RBI) Gujarat is once again No.1 investment destination in India for attracting the highest investment in industrial projects during 2007-08.
According to RBI report 22 per cent of the India’s total investment was registered in Gujarat in year 2007-08 consisting Rs 62,442 crore investment in 100 projects. Gujarat’s share in industrial investment in previous year 2006-07 was however 3 per cent higher at 25 per cent.
According the report, out of the total Rs 2,84,371 crore loan given by various banks and financial agencies for 910 projects across the nation, Gujarat recorded the highest investment of Rs 62,446 crore in 100 projects.
Maharashtra is ranked second with an investment of Rs 36,202 crore (12.7 per cent of the country’s total investment), followed by Orissa (10.9 per cent), Andhra Pradesh (8.5 per cent), Chhattisgarh (6.2 per cent), Tamil Nadu (5.6 per cent) and Karnataka (3.7 per cent).
In an official press-release Gujarat government’s spokes persons Minister Jaynarayan Vyas and Minister Saurabh Patel claimed that Gujarat continues to be on the top due to the best infrastructure, government’s pro-active business friendly approach and transparent policies.
