Gujarat govt makes important announcements on online application for Rashtriya Krishi Bima Yojana

The Gujarat government today announnced that it may extend the last date of filing online applications for National Agriculture Insurance Scheme(NAIS or Rashtriya Krushi Vima Yojana) after reviewing the details.

Agriculture Minister in a statement said that the farmers who haven’t received loan at all, or the farmers who have received loan before 15 July 2014 will need to fill in the form online by 31st of July. The state government will later review and take a decision on possible extension of last date of application.

He said it is not necessary to get registered on ikisan portal to participate in Pak Vima Yojna. The applicants may go to e-gram center, bank, mandli, cyber cafe or any computer with internet for online form, through ikisan.gujarat.gov.in website. Applicants will need to print the copy of their proposal and sign it to submit it later in same bank from which they received loan.

If there’s some mistake or error found in the application, an applicant is allowed to file the application again, the statement issued by the minister further added.

The minister said, actual premium rate for cotton crop is 17.19%, but the state government is going to give relief upto 6% to all farmers, and thus banks will cut premium at the rate of 11.19% only which shall be an effective figure of premium.

As per the provisions of state schemes, farmers are eligible to receive assistance for10% premium, and therefore the banks will collect reduced amount of premium in that proportion.
