Aluminium Phosphate Found in Parents’ Blood Samples in Ahmedabad ‘Dosa Batter’ Death Case
April 09, 2026
Ahmedabad: A new twist has emerged in the case involving the suspicious deaths of two young girls in Chandkheda, which was initially suspected to have been caused by food poisoning after consuming dosa, along with the critical illness of their parents, Vimal Prajapati and Bhavna Prajapati.
The couple reportedly fell ill after eating dosas prepared from batter purchased from a local dairy and were subsequently admitted to a private hospital. Police collected their blood samples and sent them for forensic examination.
According to reports, the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has detected the presence of aluminium phosphate in the blood samples. Following this development, police have intensified their investigation and are examining all possible angles. Final confirmation, however, is awaited from detailed forensic and post-mortem reports.
In light of the FSL findings, investigators are now exploring the possibility of suicide or foul play, in addition to food contamination. Based on preliminary forensic inputs, police have begun reassessing the sequence of events and conducting a more detailed probe.
As part of the investigation, police are scrutinising CCTV footage to track Vimal Prajapati’s movements after he collected the batter from the dairy. Officials are attempting to establish a precise timeline and determine whether he went directly home or made any stops en route.
Investigators noted that if the batter had been contaminated at the source, other customers would likely have reported similar symptoms. The absence of such cases has further deepened suspicion.
The incident occurred at Maruti Plaza Society in Chandkheda, where Vimal Prajapati had purchased dosa batter from a local outlet, Ghanshyam Dairy. After consuming the dosas, the family’s health reportedly deteriorated.
The incident resulted in the deaths of two children three-month-old Raha and four-year-old Mishri while the parents remain hospitalised in critical condition. DeshGujarat
