Bhuj Muslim mob attack: 43 arrested, sent on 2 days remand

Bhuj Police has arrested 43 persons involved in yesterday’s violence in which over two dozen vehicles suffered damage and at least eight persons suffered injuries. Bhuj police has booked culprits under sections 120-B and 307. The accused were produced in court and sent on two days remand.
Bhuj Police’s ‘A’ division is investigating the mob violence incident that occurred in ‘B’ division limits yesterday.
Those injured in yesterday’s violence are: Head constable Rajendrasinh Jadeja(45), Police photographer head constable Anwar Chaki(46), Police driver Devendrasinh(Devubha) Ratanji Jadeja(52), Driver of DySP Bhakhraji Sodha(45), Police constable Bharatsinh Solanki(24) etc.
Those injured in firing are Kantibhai Gor(45), Ibrahim Kumbhar(22), Hanif Nurmamad Mokha(22). while Kantibhai Gor has bullet injury in leg, Ibrahim Kumbhar and Hanif Mokha are admitted in private hospital. Hanif is suffering bullet injury.
It should be mentioned that a violent mob of Muslims had yesterday pelted stones on ‘B’ division police station and on vehicles parked outside. They wanted police to publicly beat a Hindu youth arrested for allegedly an offending comment on Facebook against Islam. Police had lobbed tear gas shells and also fired at least five rounds in air to control the Muslim mob on rampage.
Meanwhile a peace committee meeting was called by district Collector at his office. The meeting was attended by prominent persons from both Hindu and Muslim communities. Minister of state from Kutch Shri Tarachand Chheda and local Lok Sabha MP, senior police officials were also present in this meeting.
