Slightly moderate tremor of 3.4 near Dholavira in Kutch

Gandhinagar: Four light to slightly moderate tremors were today recorded in the wee hours in Kutch district of Gujarat.
The strongest tremor among these was of 3.4 intensity on the Richter scale and was felt at 0436 hrs and was centered at 17 km East Southeast of Dholavira. The other three were of much lighter intensity of 1.8, 1.4 and 1.4 respectively.
No loss of life of property has been reported.
According to the Seismological Research Institute, Gandhinagar, altogether 46 jolts, mostly of lighter intensity, have been recorded in seismologically senisitive Kutch and Saurashtra area of Gujarat this month so far (September). The strongest among them was of 3.7 intensity felt on September 8. The first jolt felt this month was also in Kutch on September 5 and was of 3.0 intensity.
