Ahmedabad: Actor turned politician and BJP MP from Ahmedabad-East seat, Paresh Rawal today said that he won’t contest the coming Lok Sabha election.
He also said that despite his decision to not to contest the election he would continue to support PM Narendra Modi and would remain a loyal member of BJP.
In a tweet Rawal, who had contested the election from Ahmedabad East LS seat, a known bastion of BJP in the home state of PM Modi, today wrote, ‘I request media and friends not to speculate about my nomination. I had informed the party months in advance of my decision to not contest LS elections . I, however, remain a loyal member of BJP and a staunch supporter of @narendramodi.’
Rawal’s tweet came when BJP is all set to announce the list of party candidates for 25 Lok Sabha seats. Candidate for one seat has been already announced.
