Sanjiv Bhatt case witness Shrenik Shah says he was kidnapped, files complaint against six

After remaining missing for four days, Shrenik Shah, an important witness against Sanjiv Bhatt in case filed by constable KD Panth, today appeared before Chandkheda police station in Ahmedabad and registered complaint against six unidentified persons for kidnapping and other charges.

According to Chandkheda police inspector Mr. Trivedi, Shrenik Shah stated in his complaint that on 24 October he went to Chanakya tower near his house to buy medicines for headache. When he was coming back to his house after buying pills, one white Maruti van came close to him and a person stepped down from a car and asked Shah about some address, while this conversation was on, another person put a blanket on his face and Shah was forcefully put inside the car. When Shah tried to dial a phone call, he was not allowed.

According to Inspector Trivedi, Shah has said in his complaint that he was given a poisonous drink due to which he turned unconscious. Shah has said in his complaint that most of the time he was kept in a car or sometime in one house.

Shah has stated further in his complaint that today morning at around 10.30 am he was thrown from a car near Balashinor town of east Gujarat. His golden chain, golden ring, Rs 45,000 cash and mobile phone worth Rs 16,000 was looted.

Shah said in his complaint that he was forced to sign blank stamp papers and was asked that ‘tu jamin ni dalali bahu kare chhe, aaje aa chhelli dalali kari de'( you are involved in land deals, but this would be your last deal, and you need to sign it).

Shah in his complaint said that while four out of six persons were talking in Rabari style language, two others were looking like black Marathi males and they were speaking Hindi.

Shah said that he was beaten with sticks.

Shah has been admitted in Ahmedabad’s Civil hospital.Police is investigating the case.

As a witness in the FIR against Bhatt, Shah’s statement was recorded before a judicial magistrate by the investigating officer in the case. According to the FIR of constable K.D. Pant, based on which Bhatt was arrested, Shah had come with Pant to Mr Bhatt’s residence on the night of June 16.
