Ahmedabad, 27 November 2012
Congress MLA from Umreth in central Gujarat, Lalsinh Vadodaria has joined BJP.
Vadodaria was inducted to the party in presence of state BJP vice president Shri Kaushik Patel at Gujarat BJP headquarter today evening.
Vadodaria is sitting MLA from Umreth, the seat Congress is not going to contest this time because it has been allotted to Nationalist Congress Party as part of the seat arrangement.
Nationalist Congress Party’s state chief Jayant Patel(Bosky) is contesting from Umreth for the first time. He has already filed nomination form.
Bosky had to select Umreth seat because his previous seat Sarsa doesn’t exist anymore due to new delimitation in effect.
Bosky was confident to get Lalsinh’s support for victory over Umreth seat, but Lalsinh may now contest from BJP.
Lalsinh may gather traditional BJP supporting votes and good number of pro-Congress votes too due to his personal image.
It should be mentioned that former Congress MLA Subhash Shelat is also contesting from Umreth seat. He also may cut some Congress votes and damage Bosky.
