Municipal Commissioner of Ahmedabad issues a statement, clarifies all doubts over new hospital project in VS campus

Municipal Commissioner of Ahmedabad Shri Guruprasad Mohapatra today issued a statement on ongoing development work at city’s VS hospital campus.

Perfect location of new hospital:

Ideally, General hospital should be in the middle of the city, so that from any part of city, one can reach there. No reserved plot was available in the middle of city where new multispeciality hospital and research center could be planned. Maximum use of available land was only alternative available.”

No plan to demolish existing building

There’s no plan to demolish any existing building of VS hospital to build a new one.

Existing services offered to poor, middle class patients to continue

Facilities offered to poor and middle class patients in existing V.S. hospital will go upin new building. The level of services will go up. Existing relief given to poor and middle class patients will continue in new hospital also.

No question of relocation of Sardar Patel statue

There was no statue of Sardar Patel in V.S hospital, and therefore there’s no question of its relocation. After completion of new building of Sardar Patel Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Sardar Patel’s statue will be installed.
