Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate Sardar Patel Institute of Medical Science & Research in Ahmedabad today. The hospital has been constructed in old V.S. hospital campus by Amdavad Municipal Corporation(AMC) through grant from the State government.

Rs. 750 crore hospital is according to AMC the most modern public hospital in India. It is a paperless hospital. Its height is 78 meter. Total construction is in size of 1.10 square meter area. RCC steel frame hospital has state-of-the-art infrastructure according to AMC.

– 20 high speed patient lifts with auto rescue devices.

– 2 ramps and 8 ladders upto 18th floor from the ground floor for fire evacuation.

– 32 operation theaters.

– 300-seat high tech auditorium with high definition two-way audio visual facility.

– 1400 km wires used.

– 6,000 network points.

– 600 CCTV cameras installed.

– 2,000 tonne capacity Air Condition plant.

– 1500 bed capacity in total. 1300 general beds, 139 ICU beds.

– 90 OPD consultation rooms for 22 departments.

– Separate facility of one bed and storage for a person accompanying the patient.

– Anti bacterial, anti fungal curtains and patient cube for each patient in order to maintain his/her privacy in general ward.

– Affordable ultra modern deluxe, semi special room, suit room.

– 3 Tesla MRI machine, 128 slice CT scan machine.

– Pneumatic tube system to transfer blood sample, report and medicines right from the bed of patient.

– Helipad atop the hospital to host air ambulance service. This is the first public hospital to have this faciity in India according to AMC.

– Picture Archiving & Communication System(PACS), Laboratory Integrated System(LIS) softwares to keep medical record of patients.
