Two Gujarat govt officers including AMC Commissioner transferred to Delhi

Two Gujarat cadre IFS/IAS officers are appointed Joint Secretary in Government of India. Ahmedabad’s Municipal Commissioner Guruprasad Mohapatra is one of them.
– Niranjan Kumar Singh, 1987 batch Gujarat cadre Indian Forest Service officer, has been appointed as joint secretary in the ministry of mines.
– 1986 batch Gujarat cadre IAS Dr Guruprasad Mohapatra, has been appointed as joint secretary in the department of commerce.
In total, as many as 38 officers are appointed as Union joint secretaries at one go. In some cases, there are lateral shifts, in others, fresh appointments are made, some of who are currently directors and will soon join as joint secretaries, for the first time. There are also cases where the officers who are now on “compulsory wait”, have been appointed as Joint Secretary.
