President, PM among VVIPs at Amit Shah’s son’s reception in Delhi


New Delhi

President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were among dignitaries who attended the reception ceremony of BJP Chief Amit Shah’s son Jay here today.

Besides, Union ministers, Governors and Chief Ministers were also among the VVIP guests at the high-profile event, organised at 9, Ashoka road, adjacent to the BJP party headquarters in the capital.

The function witnessed the attendance of who’s who of politics, business and sports.

Leaders from across the political spectrum, including BJP allies and opposition marked their attendance at the event.

While BJP allies at the ceremony included Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackarey and Akali Dal’s Parkash Singh Badal and his son Sukhbir, the opposition stalwarts present were NCP chief Sharad Pawar and SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.

The Congress leader spotted at the function was former MoS Rajeev Shukla.

TMC leader and former railway minister Dinesh Trivedi, TRS Chief and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and the CMs of BJP-ruled Maharashtra and Haryana Devendra Fadnavis and Manohar Lal Khattar also came.

From the saffron family, party veteran L K Advani and RSS strongman Bhaiyaji Joshi were among a host of party seniors.

Yoga guru Ramdev and BJP leaders — Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti and MP Sakshi Maharaj were also among the guests at the event that came close on the heels of BJP’s loss in Delhi Assembly polls.

Governors who graced the ceremony included Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh, UP Governor Ram Naik and Bihar Governor Keshri Nath Tripathi.

The business community was also well represented with Gautam Adani and Sunil Mittal among attendees. Former BCCI chief N Srinivasan was also spotted on the occasion.
