RSS leaders reach Nepal, organisation to help in relief and rescue efforts

New Delhi

The RSS is all set to help in relief and rescue operations in earthquake-hit Nepal with its senior leaders reaching the Himalayan nation to chalk out coordination plans.

The RSS on Sunday said its workers would join rescue efforts once a proper plan is chalked out in consultation with the Government of Nepal.

Sangh joint general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale reached Nepal tonight to coordinate rescue plan with the RSS’ Nepal counterpart Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh.

“RSS joint general secretary has reached Nepal. He will assess the scale of damage and the relief and rescue demand following which more of RSS Swayamsevaks will reach Nepal,” Manmohan Vaidya, RSS communication department head, told PTI.

Swayamsevaks from India “are ready to join hands with HSS Nepal after a proper plan is chalked out” in coordination with the government of Nepal, RSS said.

“RSS shares the grief and shock about the devastating earthquake with the people and expresses deep condolences and prayer for the deceased,” said Vaidya. More than 2,400 people were killed and over 6,000 injured in the powerful earthquake that hit Nepal on Saturday.
