10 arrested after clash in Gomtipur area of Ahmedabad

Ten persons were arrested following a clash between members of two communities who engaged in stone-pelting in the Gomtipur area of the city, police said here today.
A group had a scuffle with an autorickshaw driver, belonging to a different community, over an old rivalry, the police official said, adding that soon after members of both the communities started pelting stones at each others.
The arrests were made after the incident of stone-pelting involving two different communities was reported.
“We arrested 10 persons today for breach of law and order by throwing stones at Gomtipur area here,” police inspector J D Dangarwala of Gomptipur police station told PTI.
However, nobody was injured in the stone-pelting since the police reached the spot soon after the incident and controlled the situation, the police official said. Further investigation into the matter is on.
