Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya in Vadodara to completes 100 years

Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya of Maharaja Sayajirao University in Vadodara completes 100 years on 3rd September.
Sayajirao Gaekwad had established this Mahavidyalaya with the help of Pandir Badrinath Shastri with intention to provide best experts for Karmakand and Shastra. The Mahavidyalaya was started in a building opposite Central library in Mandvi area of Vadodara. In initial years, experts were called from Kashi for teaching.
Mahavidyalaya was later attached to MS University in year 1951. In 1989 Mahavidyalaya was shifted to DN hall building in main campus of MS University.
There are total 100 students at present studying in this mahavidyalaya. It is interesting to note that mahavidyalaya had same number of students when it was started in year 1915 on 3 September.
Sant Shri Dongreji Maharaj was one of the students of this mahavidyalaya.
