Ahmedabad Mayor bans mobile phone use in general board, CCTV cameras to be installed

Ahmedabad: Mayor of Ahmedabad city, Gautam Shah has today issued specific orders for Councillors attending general board. According to a statement issued by Mayor in this regard, use of mobile phones has been banned for Councillors, officials and employees during the general board meeting.
Other orders issued today are;
– A member who speaks something that insults others in his/her speech will be suspended.
– There will be fix time allocation for speech.
– The members will have to address the chair while making their representation.
– CCTV cameras will be installed in the house where general board meets.
General board meeting of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) is held once every month. The last meeting saw ruckus created by opposition members. Some Councillors were also found either sleeping or engaged with their smart phones during the general board meet.
